As always, Only Good Movies has you covered when it comes to new movie releases. If you’re looking to take the family unit out this weekend, here’s what’s in store:
New Movies in Wide Release
Fighting – Channing Tatum and Terence Howard star in this film about the exciting world of underground fighting. You know, I wonder if any real-life rich guys have ever held fights for their own amusement. It happens all the time in the movies, but I just can’t picture Bill Gates dressed in a suit and flanked by a seductive Asian gal.

Earth – Three animal families are followed as they try to survive everyday life. No word on whether or not an immunity challenge will be offered.

Obsessed – Ali Larter plays a woman who’s obsessed with a man, and Beyonce plays the curvy (and pissed-off) wife of that same man. Looks like there’s going to be a catfight. Let’s see how Beyonce does when she doesn’t get to sing for half her role.

The Soloist – Jamie Foxx plays a musical genius who’s crazy and has wacky hair. Robert Downey Jr. is the reporter who befriends and helps him. Pass the tissue, please.
New Movies in Limited Release
Baby on Board – A couple of workaholics find out a baby is on the way. Hilarity ensues as they try to make room in their busy lives.
Empty Nest – A Spanish-language film about a couple whose child leaves home. With the house now empty, Martha and Leonardo must face life together. Will this bring them together or tear them apart? Since it’s a European film, I’m betting a mistress is involved at some point.

The Informers – Based on a book by Bret Easton Ellis, this is yet another film about disaffected youth during the ‘80s. Ellis also wrote American Psycho and Less Than Zero, so you know this film will also be filled with drug use and unsatisfying sex. Mickey Rourke stars along with Winona Ryder, Billy Bob Thornton, Amber Heard and Kim Basinger.

Mutant Chronicles - A band of heroes must take on a suicide mission to save the planet from an alien threat. Stars Ron Perlman, Thomas Jane, Devon Aoki, John Malkovich, Sean Pertwee and many more.
Throw Down Your Heart – Musical badass Bela Fleck journeys the Africa, the home of the banjo. He picks, grins, and even records an album. Along the way, we see that African residents do more than kill each other with machetes.
Treeless Mountain – Two kids, Jin and Bin, are left in the care of their aunt. Later, they’re shuffled off to their grandparents. They bond along the way, of course. A better title for this film would’ve been Will Somebody Take These Damned Kids. Made in South Korea, so it’s probably a lot better than it sounds.
Tyson – A documentary about the life of Mike Tyson. I hope they finally show that shocking interview with King Hippo.
