Twilight Leads Pack for 2009 MTV Movie Awards

The nominees for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards have been announced, and Twilight–the teen vampire flick–leads the pack with seven. In a close second, Slumdog Millionaire received a total of six nominations. Other major nominees include Iron Man, The Dark Knight, and High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Andy Samberg of SNL fame will host the event, and it will take place on May 31st at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Unlike many other awards shows, the fans can vote on the winners by logging onto the MTV website. Voting will close on May 27th, except for the Best Picture category, which will be open all the way until the end of the show.
