The red band trailer for Legion is out, and it certainly kicks more than a little ass. Due for a release on January 22nd, 2010, Legion tells about a time when God loses faith in humanity and mankind faces the apocalypse. The only thing standing in the way is the archangel Michael (Paul Bettany). At a roadside diner, he and a group of locals (including Dennis Quaid and Lucas Black) must protect a pregnant woman’s child from the forces of Heaven. Why? Because the child she carries is the second coming of Christ!
This has all the makings of a completely wild ride, as Mr. Jennifer Connelly looks all soulful and mows down the baddies with various firearms. There’s some angel-fu later in the film, and I can’t wait to see a fight choreographed around a giant set of black wings. One possible explanation for what happened gets mentioned in the trailer, “God got tired of all the bullshit.” Now that’s what I call a reason to destroy mankind.
Cast includes Paul Bettany, Dennis Quaid, Lucas Black, Tyrese Gibson, Charles S. Dutton, Kate Walsh and Kevin Durand (last seen as The Blob and now as the angel Gabriel).

Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think. I especially like the part where the old woman starts dropping f-bombs, then bites a chunk out of a dude and crawls on the ceiling like Peter effin’ Parker.
