CinemaNow also hosts many television network programming, including programs from NBC Universal and ABC News. The website also shows music videos and documentaries.
Is CinemaNow a Scam?
CinemaNow is not a scam in any way. It is a legal service with programming provided by studios and companies. But CinemaNow is not free. Their service fairly priced and convenient for consumers. Consumers have access to thousands of programs with multiple payment and viewing options.
How Do You Watch Programming on CinemaNow?
CinemaNow has two different services to obtain and watch films:
- “Download-to-own”: The download-to-own service from CinemaNow.com allows customers to purchase films and programs from CinemaNow’s website to view any time. The media files can stay on your computer, or they can be burned on a blank DVD. Qflix, a DVD burning software from Sonic Solutions, is available to download from CinemaNow. CinemaNow films range in price from $9.99 to $19.99, while television programs and music videos cost $1.99.
- “Pay-Per-View”: The CinemaNow.com pay-per-views service allows customers to rent films and programs from CinemaNow’s website to watch on their personal computer for a 24 hour period. Customers can watch the programs at any time within the 24 hour period. CinemaNow pay per view films and programs cost between $2.99 and $3.99.
What Media Works with CinemaNow?
CinemaNow has access to thousands of films and television programs. Many movies are uploaded onto CinemaNow’s website the same day as the film’s DVD release. With the aid of Sonic Solutions and Roxio products, CinemaNow is able to connect its services to PCs, mobile media players (such as Archos), DVRs, Blu-ray. and Internet-enabled televisions. CinemaNow uses VC-1 encoding at 700 to 2500 kbit/s. As of 2008, CinemaNow uses Windows Media DRM and Widevine Technologies DRM. CinemaNow is the first online distributor of HD programming.

However, Windows Internet Explorer remains the only browser that supports CinemaNow.

Online Movies
It’s amazing how far 3D Movies have come in the last couple years. If you guys remember Spiderman from early 2000, and look at movies like Avatar, created now, you’ll understand what I’m referring to. We’ve just come so far, as long as the Movie is well funded. I can’t wait to see Marvel’s new Avengers Movie coming out 2012.
