
It’s Friday! That means a whole new group of films are opening in theaters across the country. I’ve listed the new release below, as well as provided a brief description of what they’re about.
Wide Release
Duplicity – Two former spies (played by Julia Roberts and Clive Owen) are hired by rival corporations to steal the formula for an innovation which will be worth a fortune to whoever secures the patent. Also starring Paul Giamatti and Tom Wilkinson.
I Love You, Man – Since Peter (Paul Rudd) has always been closer to women, he finds himself without a best man for his upcoming wedding to Zooey (Rashida Jones). To fix the situation, he goes on a series of “man dates” to find a best friend. When he meets Sydney (Jason Segal), things take a turn for the hilarious.
Knowing – Nicholas Cage plays a professor who finds a time capsule at his son’s school. As it turns out, the contents of the capsule have accurately predicted a number of world events, and other events have yet to happen. Soon, he believes that the apocalypse is occurring.
Limited Release
Bob Funk – In this comedy, Bob Funk (Michael Leydon Campbell) is fired from his job by his mother and subsequently agrees to see a therapist and quit drinking. When he lands a new job, he becomes convinced that his new boss might be the woman of his dream. Rachael Leigh Cook co-stars.
The Great Buck Howard – A comedy/drama starring John Malkovich as a washed up mentalist and Colin Hanks as his youthful road manager.
Sin Nombre – Two teenagers fall in love while being chased by a gang in this Mexican thriller.
Skills Like This – The day before his 25th birthday, Max Solomon (Spencer Berger) realizes that he will never be a writer. Instead, he decides to turn to a life of crime in this comedy directed by Monty Miranda.
