Myers shines in a duel role as Powers and his nemesis, Dr. Evil, in this creative spoof on the James Bond genre. After being frozen for 30 years, Powers and Dr. Evil face off when Dr. Evil threatens the world with nuclear destruction. All the while, Powers tries to land his beautiful partner, Vanessa (Hurley) and adapt to the changed styles and customs of 1997.

I know, I know, it looks stupid; but Austin Powers, along with Swingers, are two funniest films of the year. Filled with one-liners all the psychedelic humor you'd expect, this is a comedy you'll want to watch again and again.

Written by Mike Myers. Directed by Jay Roach.

A word about the sequel, The Spy Who Shagged Me. It is a funny movie, although not quite as funny as the original; but it's a lack of energy and an amazingly poor performance from Heather Graham that really separate the two films. The third installment, Goldmember, is closer in line with the original.

DVD Recommended-Many extra features.
