A weary clownfish, Marlin, teams with a memory-challenged stranger on an adventure to rescue his son, Nemo, from a dentist's office fish tank.
Another triumph for Pixar. Without a doubt, this is the finest computer animation to make it to the big screen to date. The theater is alive with undersea color and characters.
Ellen DeGenerese, as Marlin's new friend, is a funny and fun sidekick; Alexander Gould has several touching and many cute moments as Nemo; but it is Albert Brooks, as Marlin, who makes this film. No one dotes like Brooks can (apologies to Woody Allen) and he generates a couple of very moving moments with other characters.
Like Monsters Inc, I was a little disappointed with some of the supporting characters. Often their personalities are less than well defined, detracting from how an audience relates to them.
Some great leading characters, a fairly strong story and masterful color make Finding Nemo a really great children's film and certainly one adults will enjoy also.
Directed by Andrew Stanton.
