A
wealthy family's everyday life is being
disrupted by Elwood P. Dowd; a man
who's best friend is a 6-foot, three
and a half inch invisible white rabbit.
Based on the Award-Winning Mary Chase
play.
A
charming, good-natured story that is
often hilarious and hasn't lost much
of it's edge in the last fifty years.
Stewart is remarkable as the innocent
soul who visits the local watering
holes with his rabbit friend. Some
of the dialogue is really well done
and the comedic timing (very important
in a script like this) is excellent.
This
is one stage work that translates very
well to the big screen.
Directed
by Henry Koster.
