Based on a Stephan King novel about a death row prison guard in 1939. When a new inmate arrives who appears to have mysterious powers, the guard starts to believe he may be innocent.
A wonderful cast, driven by fine directing and an excellent script rich in character development make The Green Mile one of the best, if not, the best, film of 1999. A true exercise in human and super human drama that should thrill fans of modern mainstream drama. There's not a dull moment in all of it's 180 minutes even if it does seem a bit long. A true must-see film.
Directed by Frank Darabont.
