While on an intelligence
gathering mission around
Christmastime, a small
band of WWII troops encounter
a group of German soldiers.
The Germans seem to want
to surrender, but fate
may have a different plan.
Always with an undertow
of uncertainty, A Midnight
Clear makes for an entertaining
suspense film. Early on,
there are a couple of
flashbacks that lend little
to the story, but aside
from that, it's pretty
tight. More character
driven than riddled with
explosions, you'll find
a good script left in
the hands of capable actors.
A nice change of pace
from most films being
made around the same time.
Directed by Keith Gordon.
