A commercial space flight is interrupted by a crash landing on a deserted planet. The survivors soon discover that the only other inhabitant is a race of flesh eating flying creatures that seem to have only one weakness - daylight.

Some impressive directing and a decent story make Pitch Black a rather entertaining sci-fi adventure. The performances are all passable and the monstrous creatures are pretty impressive. Although they're quite "Alien like", they are interesting to watch and creatively supported. Any fan of the genre shouldn't be disappointed in this film.
