2010 MTV Movie Awards Nominees

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards will be taking place in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 6th. This is the event’s 19th year, and a whole host of stars will be vying for the coveted award in the shape of a bucket of popcorn. You can expect a number of recent films to be parodied, and I’m betting there will be a controversial moment or two (even if MTV has to stage one). This year’s host will be comedian/actor Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation), and the following stars are scheduled to present:

Here’s a complete list of the nominees for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. You can head over to the official website and cast your vote, which means most of the winners will probably be dictated by 13-year-old girls.

Best Movie

• Alice in Wonderland

• Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
• The Twilight Saga: New Moon

My prediction: While Twilight will be a close second, I’m betting that the all-time box office champ will take home the award.

Best Male Performance

• Zac Efron in 17 Again
• Taylor Lautner in The Twilight Saga: New Moon
• Robert Pattinson in The Twilight Saga: New Moon
• Daniel Radcliffe in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
• Channing Tatum in Dear John

My prediction: This is what we have to choose from? I’ll go with Daniel Radcliffe out of protest, although I bet Robert Pattinson walks away with it.

Best Female Performance

• Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side
• Zoe Saldana in Avatar
• Amanda Seyfried in Dear John
• Kristen Stewart in The Twilight Saga: New Moon
• Emma Watson in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

My prediction: Not even close. The kiddies love that Kristen Stewart.

Breakthrough Performance

• Anna Kendrick in Up in the Air
• Chris Pine in Star Trek
• Gabourey Sidibe in Precious
• Logan Lerman in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
• Quinton Aaron in The Blind Side
• Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover

My prediction: Everyone likes a funny fat guy, so Galifianakis will get the nod.

Best Villain

• Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds
• Helena Bonham Carter in Alice in Wonderland
• Ken Jeong in The Hangover
• Stephen Lang in Avatar
• Tom Felton in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

My prediction: Christoph Waltz won an Oscar for his role as a Nazi. Surely he can win the damned MTV award.

Best Comedic Performance

• Ben Stiller in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
• Bradley Cooper in The Hangover
• Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal
• Sandra Bullock in The Proposal
• Zach Galifianakis in The Hangover

My prediction: Ben Stiller wins thanks to superior star power over Galifianakis.

Best Kiss

• Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning in The Runaways
• Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal
• Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner in Valentine’s Day
• Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington in Avatar
• Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in The Twilight Saga: New Moon

My prediction: I’ll go with Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

Best Fight

• Beyoncé vs. Ali Larter (from Obsessed)
• Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber vs. Ryan Reynolds (from X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
• Logan Lerman vs. Jake Abel (from Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief)
• Robert Downey, Jr. vs. Mark Strong (from Sherlock Holmes)
• Sam Worthington vs. Stephen Lang (from Avatar)

My prediction: Some lame choices, but I’m betting voters will go with the only catfight on the list.

Best WTF Moment

• Betty White. A Golden Girl feels up Sandra Bullock during an awkward wedding dress fitting (from The Proposal)
• Bill Murray. The original Ghostbuster popped up in Zombieland in a surprise cameo playing himself (from Zombieland)
• Isabel Lucas is one smoking hot girl but there’s nothing sexy about her robot tongue hookup with Shia LaBeouf (from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen)
• Ken Jeong. Peek-a-BOOty! Ken Jeong pops out of a trunk naked right into Bradley Cooper’s face. (from The Hangover)
• Megan Fox. There’s nothing hot about projectile vomit. Even if said vomit comes from the lips of Megan Fox. (from Jennifer’s Body)

My prediction: Everyone loves Betty White.

Best Scared-As-S**t Performance

• Amanda Seyfried in Jennifer’s Body
• Jesse Eisenberg in Zombieland
• Katie Featherston in Paranormal Activity
• Sharlto Copley in District 9

My prediction: Let’s go with Alison Lohman.

Biggest Badass Star

• Angelina Jolie in Salt
• Channing Tatum in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
• Chris Pine in Star Trek
• Rain in Ninja Assassin
• Sam Worthington in Clash of the Titans

My prediction: Lame-o! How are people going to vote for Salt when it hasn’t even come out yet? Give me Chris Pine in Star Trek. Sam Worthington is anything but a badass.

Global Superstar

• Johnny Depp

• Kristen Stewart

My prediction: Since he lives in Europe, Johnny Depp should win this with ease.
