2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards – SAG Awards

On January 30th at the Shrine Exposition Center in L.A., the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards were held to recognize the best performances in both film and television. This was the 17th year for the star-studded event, and fans were able to catch it live on either TBS or TNT. In case you missed it, here are a list of winners in the movie categories. Ernest Borgnine

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role
Colin Firth – The King’s Speech

Nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role included Jeff Bridges for True Grit, Robert Duvall for Get Low, Jesse Eisenberg for The Social Network, and James Franco for 127 Hours.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role
Natalie Portman – Black Swan

Nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role included Annette Bening for The Kids Are All Right, Nicole Kidman for Rabbit Hole, Jennifer Lawrence for Winter’s Bone, and Hilary Swank for Conviction.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role
Christian Bale – The Fighter

Nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role included John Hawkes for Winter’s Bone, Jeremy Renner for The Town, Mark Ruffalo for The Kids Are All Right, and Geoffrey Rush for The King’s Speech.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role
Melissa Leo – The Fighter

Nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role included Amy Adams for The Fighter, Helen Bonham Carter for The King’s Speech, Mila Kunis for Black Swan, and Hailee Steinfeld for True Grit.

Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
The King’s Speech – Anthony Andrews, Claire Bloom, Helena Bonham Carter, Jennifer Ehle, Colin Firth, Michael Gambon, Derek Jacobi, Guy Pearce, Geoffrey Rush and Timothy Spall.

Nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture included Black Swan, The Fighter, The Kids Are All Right, and The Social Network.

Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture
Inception

Nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture included the crew from Robin Hood and the crew from Green Zone.
